Sunriver, Oregon

SUNRIVER

Sunriver began as a training camp for the Army Corps of Engineers in 1943, Camp Abbot.  It was later developed as a destination resort in the late 60´s, and is today a planned community consisting of permanent and rental residences, a resort, a village area, and supporting services.

Sunriver features three beautiful golf courses, 31 tennis courts, indoor racquetball, miles of walking and biking paths, a marina on the river, stables, and its own airport for private aircraft.  It is surrounded by evergreen forests and at 4100 feet, it gets about 60" of snow in the Winter.  Mt Bachelor is just 18 miles away for world-class downhill skiing and snowboarding, and the Cascade Mountains offer year round outdoor activities such as sightseeing, hiking, camping, boating, fishing, snowshoeing, kayaking, canoeing, biking, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing.

With a village consisting of restaurants, shops and services, Sunriver is a self-sufficient community, yet it is a short 15 minute drive to Bend.
